Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Pygmalion And Galatea by Jacopo Amigoni was sold in the Old Masters: Part I auction at Christies in New York in April 2016. The price achieved of USD 81,250.00 (€ 71,016.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 70,000.00 – 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo Amigoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,604,480.46).
