This artwork by Jacopo Amigoni achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July last year. In the Old Masters Evening Auction auction, the work The Abduction of Europa sold for GBP 529,200.00 (€ 631,958.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacopo Amigoni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,604,480.46).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jacopo Amigoni erzielte im Juli letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Masters Evening Auction wurde die Arbeit The Abduction of Europa für GBP 529.200,00 (€ 631.958,79) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacopo Amigoni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.604.480,46) versteigert wurde.
