Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Evening Sale, which included the work Venus And Adonis by Jacopo Amigoni. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 608,750.00 (€ 679,271.52) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacopo Amigoni - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis, which sold at auction in February 2013 for USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,604,480.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2017 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Venus And Adonis von Jacopo Amigoni zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 608.750,00 (€ 679.271,52) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacopo Amigoni mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis beobachtet, die im Februar 2013 für USD 2.098.500,00 (€ 1.604.480,46) versteigert wurde.
