Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2016 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work Apollo and the Muses by Jacopo Amigoni. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 70,000.00 – 100,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 88,522.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacopo Amigoni achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bacchus And Ariadne; Venus And Adonis in February 2013 with an auction result of USD 2,098,500.00 (€ 1,604,480.46).
