Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2000 Christies in London held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A ruined tower on a rocky cliff by the sea by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,527.50 (€ 2,469.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Peasants with livestock by classical ruins in an extensive landscape, with a youth playing a pipe in the foreground in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 96,000.00 (€ 70,278.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A ruined tower on a rocky cliff by the sea von Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.527,50 (€ 2.469,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Sibrandi Mancadan erzielen.
