The work Two Turkish Merchants Conversing by Jacob Toorenvliet was sold in the Old Master Paintings auction at Sothebys in New York in June 2011. The result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 34,428.15) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Toorenvliet - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Rabbinical Discussion, which sold at auction in January 2011 for USD 104,500.00 (€ 76,193.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Two Turkish Merchants Conversing von Jacob Toorenvliet wurde im Juni 2011 in der Auktion Old Master Paintings bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 34.428,15) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Toorenvliet mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Rabbinical Discussion beobachtet, die im Januar 2011 für USD 104.500,00 (€ 76.193,95) versteigert wurde.
