A top price for Jacob Toorenvliet - as previously expected
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra, which included the work Rabbinical Discussion by Jacob Toorenvliet. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 100,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 104,500.00 (€ 76,193.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Rabbinical Discussion is the most expensive artwork by Jacob Toorenvliet that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master and 19th Century Paintings from the Collection of Jacob Elie Safra durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rabbinical Discussion von Jacob Toorenvliet zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 100.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 104.500,00 (€ 76.193,95) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Rabbinical Discussion das teuerste Kunstwerk von Jacob Toorenvliet, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
