Sold at the lower estimate price
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny, which included the work Man Playing A Violin by Jacob Toorenvliet. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 3,830.54) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Toorenvliet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rabbinical Discussion in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 104,500.00 (€ 76,193.95).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny durch, in der auch die Arbeit Man Playing A Violin von Jacob Toorenvliet zur Versteigerung kam.
