Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Study of grass or sedge by Jacob Pelgrom was auctioned at Christies in New York in May 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,800.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Pelgrom achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Panoramic view of a river landscape in April 2002 with an auction result of EUR 11,950.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Study of grass or sedge von Jacob Pelgrom im Mai 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.000,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Pelgrom erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Panoramic view of a river landscape im April 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 11.950,00.
