Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of EUR 3,824.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Pelgrom - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Panoramic view of a river landscape, which sold at auction in April 2002 for EUR 11,950.00.

Die Arbeit Figures by a bridge in an extensive river landscape at dusk von Jacob Pelgrom wurde im Juni 2004 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.824,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Pelgrom mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Panoramic view of a river landscape beobachtet, die im April 2002 für EUR 11.950,00 versteigert wurde.
