This artwork by Jacob More achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in April 2016. In the Old Masters auction, the work The Rape Of Deianera; Rest On The Flight Into Egypt sold for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 51,131.89) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacob More; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A View Of The Lake Of Nemi, Anciently Called Speculum Dianae, Near Rome sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 80,455.73).
