Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale, which included the work Maecenas' Villa, Tivoli by Jacob More. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,160.00 (€ 3,178.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob More achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A View Of The Lake Of Nemi, Anciently Called Speculum Dianae, Near Rome in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 63,650.00 (€ 80,455.73).
