Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Celebration of Heritage by Jacob Lawrence was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in December 2020. It achieved a price of USD 94,500.00 (€ 77,269.01), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Lawrence achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Businessmen in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 6,169,800.00 (€ 5,448,909.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Celebration of Heritage von Jacob Lawrence kam im Dezember 2020 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 94.500,00 (€ 77.269,01) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Lawrence erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Businessmen im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.169.800,00 (€ 5.448.909,30).
