This artwork by Jacob Grimmer achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2000. In the IMPORTANT OLD MASTER PICTURES auction, the work The Month of February sold for GBP 157,750.00 (€ 251,294.34) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jacob Grimmer; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot The Massacre Of The Innocents sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).
