It achieved a price of GBP 120,000.00 (€ 178,095.02), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 50%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Grimmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Massacre Of The Innocents, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 313,250.00 (€ 375,161.12).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 120.000,00 (€ 178.095,02) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Grimmer mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Massacre Of The Innocents beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 313.250,00 (€ 375.161,12) versteigert wurde.
