Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Double portrait of a father and son, the gentleman, half-length, holding a black hat in his right hand, his son, aged 11, also holding a black hat in his right hand by Jacob Gerritsz. Cuyp was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,641.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Gerritsz. Cuyp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Vanitas Still Life With An Angel Blowing Bubbles in January 2011 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 273,058.69).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Double portrait of a father and son, the gentleman, half-length, holding a black hat in his right hand, his son, aged 11, also holding a black hat in his right hand von Jacob Gerritsz. Cuyp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Vanitas Still Life With An Angel Blowing Bubbles im Januar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.500,00 (€ 273.058,69).
