Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2013 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait Of Ortensia Mancini (1645 - 1699), Duchess Of Mazarino, Half Length by Jacob Ferdinand Voet for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,112.90). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master & British Paintings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Ferdinand Voet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Philippe, Duc de Vendôme (1655-1727), Grand Prior of the Knights of Malta in France, bust-length, in a feigned oval in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 99,650.00 (€ 115,593.70).
