Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2011 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work View of a village with a church spire by Jacob Esselens. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,272.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Esselens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Elegant Company By A River in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 39,000.00 (€ 30,004.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings & Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit View of a village with a church spire von Jacob Esselens zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.272,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Esselens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Elegant Company By A River im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 39.000,00 (€ 30.004,62).
