In February 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Topographical Observations: Picture your world, which included the work Ronde Lutherse Kerk: the Singel on a winters night by Jacob Dooijewaard. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 4,750.00 36% above the upper estimate. With this result, Ronde Lutherse Kerk: the Singel on a winters night is even the most expensive work of art by Jacob Dooijewaard that we have observed at auctions so far.
