It achieved a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,367.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 32%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob de Wit achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille in July this year with an auction result of GBP 97,020.00 (€ 113,192.93).

Die Arbeit Study For The Goddess Juno, Holding A Sceptre, Seated On Clouds von Jacob de Wit kam im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.367,56) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 32%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob de Wit erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille im Juli diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 97.020,00 (€ 113.192,93).
