The »bidding war« ended at USD 32,500.00 (€ 29,297.76), 30% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob de Wit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 97,020.00 (€ 113,192.93).

Die Arbeit Allegory of Autumn von Jacob de Wit wurde im Januar 2020 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings Including Works from the Collection of Jean Bonna bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 29.297,76) und damit 30% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob de Wit mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 97.020,00 (€ 113.192,93) versteigert wurde.
