Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Putti Playing Around A Herm by Jacob de Wit was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 32,500.00 (€ 28,374.37) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob de Wit - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 97,020.00 (€ 113,192.93).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Putti Playing Around A Herm von Jacob de Wit kam im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 32.500,00 (€ 28.374,37) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob de Wit mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit An allegory of painting and sculpture; and An allegory of music and dance - en grisaille beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 97.020,00 (€ 113.192,93) versteigert wurde.
