In January 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work A Couple Offering A Drink To A Cavalier And His Horse By A Tavern, A Village In The Background by Jacob Cats. The »bidding war« ended at USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,367.56), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jacob Cats - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Month Of December: A Winter Landscape With Skaters And Sledges On A Frozen River By A Village, Possibly The Village Of Nieuwland, Near Leerdam, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 26,250.00 (€ 24,233.75).

Im Januar 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Couple Offering A Drink To A Cavalier And His Horse By A Tavern, A Village In The Background von Jacob Cats zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.367,56) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jacob Cats mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Month Of December: A Winter Landscape With Skaters And Sledges On A Frozen River By A Village, Possibly The Village Of Nieuwland, Near Leerdam beobachtet, die im Januar 2016 für USD 26.250,00 (€ 24.233,75) versteigert wurde.
