Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Recto: Study Of A Seated Man Wearing A Hat, His Hand Raised Holding A Glass Verso: Study Of A Seated Woman, Her Arms Folded by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2014, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,671.54). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 173,663.86).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Recto: Study Of A Seated Man Wearing A Hat, His Hand Raised Holding A Glass Verso: Study Of A Seated Woman, Her Arms Folded von Jacob Adriaensz. Backer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 122.500,00 (€ 173.663,86).
