Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Kneeling Woman by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer was sold in the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction at Sothebys in London in July 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,015.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 173,663.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Kneeling Woman von Jacob Adriaensz. Backer wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 12.500,00 (€ 14.015,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jacob Adriaensz. Backer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 122.500,00 (€ 173.663,86).
