Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Drawings Including Property from the Descendants of Walter Brandt auction, the work Portrait Study Of An Elderly Woman changed hands for GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,451.34) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jacob Adriaensz. Backer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 122,500.00 (€ 173,663.86).
Backer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, half-length, in a black coat with a white collar and cuffs, wearing a black hat, a glove in his right hand, before a column and a red curtain im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 122.500,00 (€ 173.663,86).
