Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Dispersal No. 5 by Jack Whitten was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 35,280.00 (€ 30,043.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Whitten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Special Checking in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,369,077.31).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Dispersal No. 5 von Jack Whitten kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 35.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 35.280,00 (€ 30.043,43) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jack Whitten erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Special Checking im März 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.660.000,00 (€ 2.369.077,31).
