Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Dispersal No. 3 by Jack Whitten was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 32,760.00 (€ 27,897.47) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jack Whitten achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Special Checking in March 2019 with an auction result of USD 2,660,000.00 (€ 2,369,077.31).
