Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When this work without title by Jaap Egmond was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2006, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 2,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jaap Egmond - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Toetsenspel 1 op 1 (Game of Keys 1 on 1), which sold at auction in November 2018 for EUR 17,500.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit ohne Titel von Jaap Egmond im September 2006 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 2.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 6.000,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Jaap Egmond mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Toetsenspel 1 op 1 (Game of Keys 1 on 1) beobachtet, die im November 2018 für EUR 17.500,00 versteigert wurde.
