The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,413.45) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Master Ackerman, in brown coat with black collar, brown breeches, grey waistcoat, white frilled shirt, an artist's portfolio under his left arm, a paintbrush in his left hand; seated in a landscape is the most expensive artwork by J. Lewis that we have observed at auctions so far.
