Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In December 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work A punt along the river at Richmond; and The Thames, from Richmond Hill by J. Lewis. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,780.95), 20% above the upper estimate. Other works by J. Lewis have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,413.45) in December 2008 for the work Master Ackerman, in brown coat with black collar, brown breeches, grey waistcoat, white frilled shirt, an artist's portfolio under his left arm, a paintbrush in his left hand; seated in a landscape.

Im Dezember 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit A punt along the river at Richmond; and The Thames, from Richmond Hill von J. Lewis zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.780,95) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Andere Arbeiten von J.
