This artwork by Jan Cossaar achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in August 2002. In the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES auction, the work Carriages and omnibuses on a busy London street, thought to be Piccadilly sold for GBP 1,057.50 (€ 1,668.96) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Cossaar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sneeuwpret na schooltijd - Playing in the snow after school in September 2000 with an auction result of NLG 52,659.00 (€ 24,270.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
