This artwork by Ivon Hitchens achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June last year. In the Modern British Day Auction auction, the work Poppy Against a Blue Sky sold for GBP 239,400.00 (€ 278,114.70) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 120,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Ivon Hitchens; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Still Life with Azaleas sold at auction in January 2020 with the realized price of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 327,109.44).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Ivon Hitchens erzielte im Juni letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Poppy Against a Blue Sky für GBP 239.400,00 (€ 278.114,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 120.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Ivon Hitchens; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Still Life with Azaleas im Januar 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 327.109,44).
