The work Nude, Violet & Yellow by Ivon Hitchens was sold in the Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2021. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 63,000.00 (€ 73,411.38), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Ivon Hitchens have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Still Life with Azaleas in January 2020 with an auction result of GBP 275,000.00 (€ 327,109.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Nude, Violet & Yellow von Ivon Hitchens wurde im Juni 2021 in der Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 63.000,00 (€ 73.411,38) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ivon Hitchens auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Still Life with Azaleas im Januar 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 275.000,00 (€ 327.109,44).
