Auction result well in line with expectations
In November last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Coastal Scene) by Ivan Peries. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,187.50 (€ 3,693.58) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ivan Peries have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in March this year with an auction result of USD 23,940.00 (€ 22,019.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Coastal Scene) von Ivan Peries zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.187,50 (€ 3.693,58) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ivan Peries auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 23.940,00 (€ 22.019,87).
