The work Poya II by Ivan Peries was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Indian Art auction at Christies in New York in September 2006. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,200.00 (€ 10,404.35), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivan Peries - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March this year for USD 23,940.00 (€ 22,019.87).

Die Arbeit Poya II von Ivan Peries wurde im September 2006 in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Indian Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 10.404,35) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Ivan Peries mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für USD 23.940,00 (€ 22.019,87) versteigert wurde.
