Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Animal Stories For My Daughter And Michael by Ivan Lam was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 140,000.00 – 220,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 137,500.00 (€ 15,133.50). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivan Lam - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Yellow Diamond, which sold at auction in May 2013 for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 32,229.75).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Animal Stories For My Daughter And Michael von Ivan Lam im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 140.000,00 – 220.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 137.500,00 (€ 15.133,50) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Ivan Lam mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Yellow Diamond beobachtet, die im Mai 2013 für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 32.229,75) versteigert wurde.
