Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Russian Art, which included the work Sandy Coastline by Ivan Shishkin. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,200,000.00 – 1,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,314,500.00 (€ 977,105.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ivan Shishkin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Forest Clearing, which sold at auction in April 2008 for USD 3,177,000.00 (€ 2,040,724.56).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Russian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sandy Coastline von Ivan Shishkin zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.200.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.314.500,00 (€ 977.105,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ivan Shishkin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Forest Clearing beobachtet, die im April 2008 für USD 3.177.000,00 (€ 2.040.724,56) versteigert wurde.
