Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Tel Kakun by Israel Hershberg. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 30,551.68) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Israel Hershberg have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in March 2011 the work Four Quinces was auctioned for USD 60,000.00 (€ 42,304.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Tel Kakun von Israel Hershberg zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 30.551,68) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Israel Hershberg konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im März 2011 die Arbeit Four Quinces für USD 60.000,00 (€ 42.304,17) versteigert.
