In December 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Israeli & International Art, which included the work Cypress #1 by Israel Hershberg. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 18,011.53), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Israel Hershberg - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Quinces, which sold at auction in March 2011 for USD 60,000.00 (€ 42,304.17).

Im Dezember 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Israeli & International Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cypress #1 von Israel Hershberg zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 18.011,53) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Israel Hershberg mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Four Quinces beobachtet, die im März 2011 für USD 60.000,00 (€ 42.304,17) versteigert wurde.
