Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Tree Of Life by Ismail Awi for HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,268.59). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ismail Awi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Wake Up, Sleepy Head! , which sold at auction in October 2018 for HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,890.22).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Tree Of Life von Ismail Awi für HKD 37.500,00 (€ 4.268,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Ismail Awi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Wake Up, Sleepy Head! beobachtet, die im Oktober 2018 für HKD 150.000,00 (€ 16.890,22) versteigert wurde.
