Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2018 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art, which included the work The Stage (Rise Up) by Ismail Awi. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 3,956.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ismail Awi have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Wake Up, Sleepy Head! in October 2018 with an auction result of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 16,890.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2018 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Stage (Rise Up) von Ismail Awi zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 37.500,00 (€ 3.956,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ismail Awi auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Wake Up, Sleepy Head! im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 150.000,00 (€ 16.890,22).
