Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Wayward Muse Portfolio, from The Book of Verse by the Smoking Lamp, I Turn to Watch the Phantom Shadows by Isami Doi was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June last year. The price achieved of USD 2,550.00 (€ 2,435.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Isami Doi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a Woman in a Kimono in August this year with an auction result of USD 38,400.00 (€ 35,427.62).

Die Arbeit The Wayward Muse Portfolio, from The Book of Verse by the Smoking Lamp, I Turn to Watch the Phantom Shadows von Isami Doi kam im Juni letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 2.550,00 (€ 2.435,76) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Isami Doi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a Woman in a Kimono im August diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 35.427,62).
