This artwork by Isaac Israëls achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in October last year. In the Made in Holland auction, the work A donkey ride on the beach of Scheveningen sold for EUR 201,600.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 100,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Isaac Israëls - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Raden Mas Jodjana, which sold at auction in May 2019 for HKD 4,325,000.00 (€ 494,995.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Isaac Israëls erzielte im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Made in Holland wurde die Arbeit A donkey ride on the beach of Scheveningen für EUR 201.600,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 100.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Isaac Israëls mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Raden Mas Jodjana beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für HKD 4.325.000,00 (€ 494.995,07) versteigert wurde.
