In September 2012 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Racing with the Wind by Irving Ramsay Wiles. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,806.16), 46% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Irving Ramsay Wiles achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Corner Table in May 2013 with an auction result of USD 635,000.00 (€ 488,912.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Im September 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Racing with the Wind von Irving Ramsay Wiles zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 6.806,16) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Irving Ramsay Wiles erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Corner Table im Mai 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 635.000,00 (€ 488.912,84).
