Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Rest on the Flight to Egypt by Ippolito Scarsella was sold in the Master Paintings Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 13,485.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Scarsella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abduction Of Persephone in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 340,200.00 (€ 292,092.38).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Rest on the Flight to Egypt von Ippolito Scarsella wurde im Januar letzten Jahres in der Auktion Master Paintings Part II bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 13.485,55) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ippolito Scarsella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abduction Of Persephone im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 340.200,00 (€ 292.092,38).
