It achieved a price of USD 75,600.00 (€ 67,427.76), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 51%. Admittedly, works by Ippolito Scarsella have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Abduction Of Persephone in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 340,200.00 (€ 292,092.38).

Die Arbeit Judith with the Head of Holofernes von Ippolito Scarsella kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 75.600,00 (€ 67.427,76) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 51%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ippolito Scarsella auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Abduction Of Persephone im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 340.200,00 (€ 292.092,38).
