Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Madonna col Bambino by Ippolito Scarsella was auctioned at Christies in Milan in May 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 19,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Ippolito Scarsella achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Abduction Of Persephone in October 2020 with an auction result of USD 340,200.00 (€ 292,092.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Madonna col Bambino von Ippolito Scarsella im Mai 2012 bei Christies in Mailand versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 19.500,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Ippolito Scarsella erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Abduction Of Persephone im Oktober 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 340.200,00 (€ 292.092,38).
