Auction result misses estimated price range
In February this year a collector was able to acquire the work Selected Portraits of Photographers by Imogen Cunningham for USD 1,197.00 (€ 1,129.03). This price was achieved in the auction The Eye That Shapes: Further Selections from the Peter C. Bunnell Collection at Phillips in an online auction and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Imogen Cunningham achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Calla in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 350,000.00 (€ 312,472.10).
