a set of four large albums 'Pictures of Birds and Flowers', each album printed in sumi and colour with plates depicting a variety of birds and flowers found in the four seasons, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter, published Kyoto 1892, each with collectors book plate to inside of cover MARIAN CESILIA WHITEHEAD, and with accompanying letter attached to the inside of the outer cover of the set, the letter dated Dec 24th 1900; and five smaller albums, three containing textile designs and two armour. In November 2007 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Ceramics & Works of Art, which included the work Unknown by Imao Keinen. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,750.00 (€ 2,450.45), 46% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Imao Keinen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S. Nishimura, 1891. 4 volumes in two, 2° (366 x 255mm). 6pp. text. 138 coloured wood-block plates on 163 leaves (including 25 'diptych' plates). Im November 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Ceramics & Works of Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Imao Keinen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.750,00 (€ 2.450,45) und damit 46% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Imao Keinen mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Keinen kacho gafu [Keinen's natural history paintings Kyoto: S.
